Overview

DID (Direct Inward Dialing) is an emerging technology that has created new business opportunities for service providers.  With the PoyaData Direct DID Solution calls forward the DID directly to the PoyaData Softswitch.  The Softswitch initiates a PSTN based call and directs the call to PSTN or GSM based destinations, without routing through an IP phone.  The calls are placed using a landline phone eliminating the need for an IP phone or internet access.  Additionally, service providers can provide international calls at local rates.

This feature is extremely valuable for business people looking to receive DID numbers through their cell or office numbers as well as residential customers who communicate frequently with friends and family abroad.

Why Direct DID?

Business Solutions:
The PoyaData Direct DID Solution supports multiple DID numbers.  For example, a client could have phone numbers in London, New York, and South Africa all routing to your cell phone in Toronto.  Business professionals on the go need multiple phone numbers around the world and the ability to forward calls to one number.

Residential Solutions:
In today’s world there are many people living abroad, far from their families, who become socially disconnected from friends and relatives in their home-country.  In some regions, calls are very expensive and communication is not easily available.  PoyaData’ Direct DID breaks these communication barriers that have been created due to cost or other technical reasons.  Phone calls can be placed using a local number ~ although long distance ~ and only local charge rates will apply.

Cost Savings:
The price differentiator as compared to true call forwarding is tremendous.  Today, if a client signed up for DID in the US and requested their Telco to forward calls to phone numbers in other destinations every call would be a long distance charge – up to 30 cent per minute.  With the PoyaData Direct DID the call would be remarkably cheaper because the call is being sent through IP infrastructure.
